Castle Leslie

Behold the stately majesty that is Castle Leslie! Behold my adequate use of watercolors to render said castle! Maybe it's not quite Camelot, but it's home (or at least it was 300 years ago.) I'm an admitted novice when it comes to watercolor, but in my mind there's no better medium for architectural studies.
Anyways, this is the 17th Century Castle of the Clan Leslie (renovated in the 1980s). Before this structure was built there was a wooden palisade on that location that dated back to the 14th Century. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Castle.
This was a Christmas gift for my father, but I took a scan before framing it so if any other Leslie's out there would be interested in a print just let me know.

Orphaned Illustration

Abandoned illustrations and concepts are just part of the job description for a commercial artist, and over the years I've developed fairly thick skin about the whole business. Still, though, sometimes I quite enjoy those orphaned illustrations.
This concept was abandoned for something more 'alternative' in a 'woman-to-woman' sort of way.

Obviously, the text is redacted.

Arachnine

Some friends of mine (hi guys!) have adopted unto themselves the symbol of a nine-legged spider. It is their mascot, their amulet, their totem, if you will.
Thus I unsheathed my pen and let lose this creature upon their holiday festivities.
I have excluded the text because the only people who might find it humorous have already seen it.
